What's a good book about makeup and hair for a 13-year-old?

This Christmas I want to get her a book with makeup how-tos and beauty advice for beginners. Something written for a kid her age, but not cheesy. Any recommendations?What's a good book about makeup and hair for a 13-year-old?
I have the book that the first girl mentioned, it's called ';Bobbi Brown: Teenage Beauty.'; I got it when I was around 12 or 13 and loved it -- and still go back to it today for tips and tricks. It gives advice for all problems and stages - whether you're a preteen or a senior. I also have a book called, ';Teen Beauty Secrets: Fresh, Simple %26amp; Sassy Tips for Your Perfect Look'; which is GREAT! they cover all subjects for teenage girls - from pimples to natural looking make up to packing for college and dressing for nice events. I love it, and they give tons of at-home recipes for fun masks and face scrubs. I would suggest this book, I got it for $15 at Vromans.

I was looking for the same, for my (soon to be) 13 year old nieces birthday.


After talking with her parents, I decided to go another route.





I bought her one of those make-up ';Train Cases'; by The Color Workshop-----I also talked my sister into buying a lighted make-up mirror.





Then I went on-line to http://www.cosmeticscop.com


From there I printed almost the entire ';learn'; section.


I'm putting it in a binder for her along with some other tips %26amp; hints that I've found online. I've found a lot of websites that have excellent printable materials %26amp; diagrams, etc





There's also webs with instructional videos. Such as the Seventeen Magazine one.





This way I was able to customize the material for her %26amp; staying in accordance to her parents wishes.





The ';Color Workshop'; gift kits are inexpensive %26amp; the shadows %26amp; blushes %26amp; lipsticks are also very sheer %26amp;light 'tints'.....just what a 13 year old should be wearing %26amp; experimenting with.





I don't have kids myself, but I assure you I am the favorite ';Aunt'; to several youngsters, that are a part of my life.

Sally Norton, ';Make-up natural ways to a perfect complexion';. its step by step. Its for all ages, but I'm not to sure if you can still find it as i bought it ages ago. its got all hints and tips along with step by step how to do pictures. But i may be able to post it to you all the way from Australia if your interested...?
Bobbi Brown had a book for all skin types and ages years ago...


I dont remember the name but its amazing and will teach self confidence as well as good make up tips. Make up tips as in dont over do and dont do what your blonde hair blue eyed friend is while you have brown hair and eyes. Its not that cheesy either
The Beauty Bible from Paula Begoun. She is the Cosmetics Cop, has 3 books on several beauty issues for everyone of every age, and is extremely blunt and honest about the cosmetics industry. Her books are definitely worth picking up if you want to know the truth, and giving it to a 13 year old is great, because it teaches her right from the start what she should and shouldn't do with her skin and makeup to achieve radiance.
I don't know about a book but Seventeen magazine always has a ton of makeup, hair, and body tips. You could subscribe to their magazine, or even check out their website. seventeen.com has everything your gonna want from the newest hair and makeup trends to tips from celebrities and even moms!
